well, coming from experience, pay the extra $$$ and go for oem. i bought a new aftermarket one off ebay w/ 3 yr warranty and the Crank Poistion Sensor inside was a bit out of spec so the car ran very wierd and gave me a CEL every time i drove.
ive tried to figure it out with them and havent gotten any responce back for an exchange or refund so...

i went with oem and the things you have to buy are the Housing, ignitor, igntion coil, cap and rotor... (and extra bolts/screws if you arent going to salvage them off the old distributor)
you CAN go with an aftermarket ignitor if you want because i went with one and has worked fine so far. not so sure about the ignition coil though.

installation is very easy but make sure you mark the location of where the distributor was set so that it doesnt mess up the timing too much (id still suggest to check timing)

Buy oem because this will ensure proper operation. By the way, there was a recall by Honda and they replaced it for free, call your local dealer first. I have a 90 as well with 180K, but dist. no problem, whats your mileage?

just make sure that the end of the cam line up with the end on the distributor.

If you look @ the new distributor before you remove the old one there is a flate keyway that wticks out of the shaft. But if you look at it carefully you will see that it is offset from the center. Once the old dist. is removed you can see the cam and see where the keyway has to go. If you just stuck it in the bolts will be a little tought to put in but if you did and forced them you may snap the end of the cam.

But its really easy to do.

Most if not all Accords that fell in the warranty range won't
be covered. But the good news is the replacement parts are still
available from Honda and aren't too expensive. The 90/91 replacement
distributors are complete except the coil.
part # for 90 is 06301-PT3-A00
and 91 is 06301-PT3-A10 . They both include igniter, cap/rotor.

92/93 is 06301-PT3-A20 is just the distributor base

Do OEM on parts like this. Aftermarket just isn't worth it.

Well I got the new distributor installed and its doing to same thing. Not sure what else could be but it does seem to be making a sound from the passenger side floor board area. Isn't the ECU under there? Could it be bad? Also I remember something about a connector under the passenger dash that i am suppose to jump to read codes? Anyone with any help I would be greatful. Also what about the main relay? thinging next thing to try?
