just make sure that the end of the cam line up with the end on the distributor.

If you look @ the new distributor before you remove the old one there is a flate keyway that wticks out of the shaft. But if you look at it carefully you will see that it is offset from the center. Once the old dist. is removed you can see the cam and see where the keyway has to go. If you just stuck it in the bolts will be a little tought to put in but if you did and forced them you may snap the end of the cam.

But its really easy to do.
