For the 4th gen. Accords, Honda's oem supplier for wheel bearings was NTN. The front bearing that replaced the original was NSK, which is major supplier to all Japanese cars. The wheel bearings on the 4th and 5th gen. Accords usually can last forever.

It seems like the 6th gen. Accords have much more domestic parts than the earlier Accords. I am not saying that domestic parts are bad, but quality is more imnportant than price. Is it true that the 6th gen. Accords have Delphi alternators which fail below 100K miles? How about that tranny issue?

Well, I had the right-rear get noisy. The way the noise echoed around it wasn't real easy to hear which side it was coming from. And it didn't change in turns (that's usually a good test). I took off the wheels & checked, & you're sorta right, it didn't feel very 'gritty'. But it was pretty clear which side was bad.

Honda uses Delphi (which also supplies alternators and many other components to General Motors) for their V6 models only. All I-4 engines still use Denso, which have superior longevity. I also still have all of my original Denso components (except for the water pump which gets replaced for preventive maintenance) including the AC compressor, PS pump and alternator which has been over 9 years and 160k miles. This kind of part longevity is unheard of with other brands.
