Default Some Suspension/Wheel questions

I just purchased a 96 ex 4dr and was looking to upgrade the suspension. I am looking to go with the Eibach pro kit. i feel a 1.2/1.5 drop is sufficient since i do alot of drving. (put 5k miles on it in 5 weeks) The wheels that i may be using if the deal goes throug will Be 18" Enkei GF1 with 40 series tires. I currently have Honda accessory 15" chrome 5 spoke wheels. i think they were an accessory wheel for the 98-02 years. I am kinda new to the Honda world so bear with me. I have read in my searching that i should only need camber adjustment in the rear and not the front. Teh struts are OEM Honda replaced less than 20k miles ago. please help me in my quest in to Honda world.

all depends how much u wanna spend. oem struts plus a drop is not going to feel too good unless the roads where u live are perfect, plus oem struts are not made for what u want so there is a chance they can get damage soon or later. i also still have a 96ex 4door, I save and waited to buy what i want once. the roads here are horrible so i wanted something confortable for the city and some great for highway. I have full coilovers tein ss they are great is perfect for me and the road, but if the roads were good here i would have definetly gotten something else like Eibach pro kit or H&R springs with some tokito or similar shocks. btw u most think about security before u buy wheels and drop ur car. once u have it drop with nice wheels is like driving with the doors open.

I know what you are saying. Thank you for your opinion. I am trying to do it on a budget so Tein coilovers are out of the question.

If you want some better handling, I say H&R sport springs and KYB AGX shocks. Since your going to be driving so much i would personally run with the stock rims. I don't know how rough your roads are but I wouldn't want to have a rough ride all the damn time.

I am probably going to go with some 17's. I dont want to go with coilovers from ebay since i dont like the ride. I even had ground controls once and were not very impressed with them. I am primarily highway and most roads i do drive i can navigate without a rough ride.

If i went with Eibach springs, what should i do about camber and would could you all recommend??

for camber, go with the SPC front ball joints and do the washer trick for the rear (search for more details, here's a quick link: http://whiteaccord94.homestead.com/HOWTOs.html).

if you can afford it, get an alignment after lowering but before buying the camber kit. you might not need a kit anyway. don't read too much into the amount of the drop since every car reacts to the change differently. you probably won't need to correct camber if you go pro-kit/stock shocks, but there is a decent chance that you might. i have the pro-kits paired with koni yellow sp3s (neuspeed editions) and the ride is very smooth. with 17s, it is only slightly rougher than stock. i ended up with more than a 1.2" drop using those shocks, though.

Don't use the Eibach Pro kit with OEM struts. OEM struts are not meant for these types of set-ups. Use H&R's smallest drop kit if you're looking to save money or keep the stock struts. H&R makes a spring kit with a very minor drop (1/4").

Cambers adjustment kits may or may not be needed. It just depends on how radical the drop ultimately is and how your overall suspension is set up. Either way, you'll most likely need and should have an alignment done after doing your suspesnion work.

that would be the H&R OE kit. are you sure that they are 0.25"? neuspeed has a "SofSport" set that gives a 0.75" drop.
