[QUOTE=fuji1]accord,

Your not wrong just got the word today your dead on!! It needs a trans!!!

Worst part I have 109Kon it and 9K over the warrantee. This is the second trans the first went in at 24K so 85K on this one. I called Honda to see what they could do about good will. We'll see what happens. Now the fluid was changed at 65K with Honda fluid and I have a cooler on it and drive at 75 all day how does a well designed trans blow from this?

There should be a recall and let them step up to the plate!

Seems you're not TOO far out of warranty, maybe the dealer will do a goodwill warranty repair, otherwise I'd say take it up with Honda. If they know what's good for them, they'll help you out. This is a KNOWN issue, and it would be unfair to deny you a warranty claim if you're not too far out. If you were say...30k miles out, then I might understand. But only 9k? they SHOULD take care of it for you. Good luck though.

I had a the main seal go on my '01. $600 to fix. But that is the only money I have put in this car other than maintenance, and I have 130k on it. I do all my fluid changes, and some of the maintenance. So the $600 wasn't bad after all I have saved.

Default Tranny Leak/Blown Tranny Honda Does good

Ok,

Here it is. You guys were right blown Differential bearings. This seems to be the major problem with the tranny with a few other issues.

The leak was from the play in the bearings.

With 109K on the car 02 Coupe Honda paid for the replacement trans. Wow I was expecting $ 3500 bill and they covered it all!

If it wasn't for the trans and rotors it would easily be the best car I ever owned.
