Default TSX or.....?

whatup people...up until a few days ago my mind was pretty much made up... i was buying an 06 TSX (when they come out), slapping a supercharger, and all the JDM Accord parts i can find...but, i've been working nights so i've had alot of downtime to read all of the magazines i subscribe to. i've always had the EVO MR in the back of my mind, but for some reason i never thought about actually getting one. but the more i see them, and just the thought of being faster than everybody, and putting that thing on the track, it just seems too good to pass up....so my question to all of you, what should i do? 06 Acura TSX 6speed + supercharger + JDM accord kit, badges, grille, etc or 06 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR?

we're talking a 10K+ difference in cars and 2 totally different goals. the only thing in common with the 2 are the 4 doors.

TSX-T (90% positive rumored turbo model in late 05)
+ Honda quality
+ Honda warranty
+ Acura brand recognition
+ in the area of $31,000 for an i4
- Unfamiliar territory with the turbo

Mitsubishi Evo8 MR
+ Years of turbo experience
+ The engine block is legendary
+ Quality ... this is the only Mitsu that doesn't break
- $36,000 price tag, closer to 40K after tax and other bs.
- garbage interior
- supported on by a company on the verge of closing US operations

im actually waiting for the 9 MR
the TSX is only 27...ive heard rumors about the turbo thing... i doubt that. that all stems from the RDX concept vehicle having a turbocharged K24. in 06 the TSX is supposed to get a small power bump, but only 10hp or so. IF they do anything big it wont be until 07 model...as for the EVO 9, the TSX will never handle as well or be as fast...but i love the TSX because it's the real 7th gen accord...that was my plan, to buy one and turn it back into an accord + supercharger because it's severly underpowered...but it would make a killer road race/autocross car, just like my 6th gen accord is now...but the EVO would eat it up on a road race/autoX track. i know they are two totally different cars, that's what makes this so tough. and as for the interior on the evo, it's good enough to get the job done. it's got a momo steering wheel, 6 speed tranny, and recaro's...the rest is unneeded fluff. and by the time i'd finish with the engine, drivetrain, and interior mods on the TSX i'd be at what the evo costs anyway...and thats before the suspension, wheels, etc... i dunno what imma do yet

it sounds like you want to make the TSX an Evo anyways. i'd save the headache and just get the Mitsu.

yup... if i get the TSX, it's getting rims, tein HT's, strut bars, supercharger, accord euro R aero kit, badges, grille, cat back before i take it home from the dealership... if i get the evo i want to drive it stock for a while to get the feel of it, then comes the tein's, rims, upgraded strut bars, sways, engine mods, etc...but the evo's pretty much good the way it is...the TSX will need immediate help haha

Sounds like the evo better fits your goal.

You forgot sone thing i nthe comparison. Refinement. The TSX will be quieter, tighter, better assembled, higher quality matierials and fit & finish, ride smoother (unless you stiffen up the suspension significantly) and IMO looks a lot better.

The EVO just screams "boy racer" while the TSX is refined.. and considered more of luxury sports sedan like a BMW 3 series sedan or Audi A4.

A EVO needs to be compared more to a Ford Mustang, Mazda RX8 or Nissan 350Z.
