Changing Transmission Fluid
Before anyone says it; Yes i did search for it.
I've never done this before but since I have approx 103,000 mi I hear it is a good time to do it. Got some genuine Honda Transmission Fluid and the service guy said it was as easy as changing my oil. However any basic steps on how to do it? Don't know where the bolt is @ and where to place the Tranny-fluid.

Not sure on 6th gens. On 5th gens the drain bolt is right near passenger tire. It may be a bitch to get off, just to worn you. It's not difficult at all, and is pretty much like changing your oil.
Don't expect anything huge from it: my car started to go into gear fairly jerky, now it goes in smooth. Shifting is a bit crisper but it may just be my mind. If it has never been done before you may want to talk to a tech at your Honda dealer about if you should or not.
I put in just above 2.5 quarts ('97 accord i4) and I am just at the middle part of the dipstick "safety zone).
Also if the service guy did not give you a new crush gasket for your drain bolt go back and get it. You'll need it

Auto or Manual?
I am assuming manual. Its easy. I have a 96 Accord. The drain and fill bolts are behind the passenger front tire. Get a fluid transfer pump it makes life easier, about 10 bucks at AZ. Mine took 2 qts. Shifts great now! Very smooth. Also my dealer gave me the wrong fill bolt crush washer. Mine was much larger than the drain bolt.

I think manual trannies have to be filled from the bottom with a special apparatus,.. although I think they sell the manual fluid in a bottle that pours upwards.
Autos are drained from the bottom and filled from the top.
Manual trannys have a drain plug at the bottom & a fill plug alongside the axle. Drain & put the plug back in. The 'crush washer' is an aluminum washer for the plugs, just like the engine oil drain.
Fill thru the fill hole, the proper level is right up to the hole. Once it has time to run down into the gearbox, the proper level is when it just starts to spill out. The only special apparatus I can think of is a tube that you can stick into the fill hole, or maybe a funnel with a tube on it.

What year, and is this a stick, or A/T??

The fill bolt is above the drain bolt. Fill it with the tire off. Use a fluid transfer pump. On my 96 Accord this is what I did. Take off front passenger tire. Drain oild fluid out. Put blot with new washer on. Take fill bolt off stick the fluid transfer pump hose in the fill hole and the other hose into the qt. of MTF. Pump away. Did the same with the 2nd qt. It started "spilling" out of the fill hole I stopped ( 2qts. of MTF just as the Honda Service manual said). Replace washer and screw down fill bolt. Put tire back on. Got into car went through the gears. Started the car. Went through the gears.
Went for test drive, checked for leaks.
Go to AZ and get a Fluild Transfer pump, they are 10 bucks. Its pretty self-explanitory and easy to use.
Takes 20 mins.
GOOD LUCK!!!

How much did you spend to do all these? Firestone wants $93 for changing my manual transmission fluid. I have a 95 EX. And where can I get the crush gasket? Can I get it from AutoZone or something? If yes, what size? Thanks!
