I use them on a regular basis at night, but I wouldn't say I use them more than the average person. I proably use them about 1/2hrs a day on average like you do.

even though it sounds dumb, i think the best bulbs you can get are just the regular halogens.... i've had so many pairs of blue bulbs and they all blow after a few months.... it's bull. I've had a regular pair of bulbs in my car for the longest time now they work fine. they way i figure is if your gonna waste that much on bulbs you might aswell just save up and get a 8-12k HID conversion kit. they are around 3-400 for a good set, and that way you wont get "immitation HID" you get the real shiizzz

UPDATE

i was driving home on the highway (I-95) and it was a little bumpy (stupid taxachusetts)

One of my headlights turned back on, the passenger side. Sweet...or so i thought. I parked at my girlfriends house and one headlight worked. Good enough for me. Now I dont have to drive around with my brights on.

I came back out to go home later on in the night and it didnt work.

I thought it must be a loose connection or something so a few days later I tried to tap my bumper to see if it would turn on....nothing....

Okay so im sure the drivers side, the one that blew first, blew completly...so why did the passenger side turn on and work fine...and then stop working again??? Does this make any sense?

by the way that was a few days ago. hasnt come on again randomly since

I'll tell you what happened. I've had shitty bulbs and i know how it works cause i'm a Comp E. major and i learned how bulbs work and stuff... neways, the Tungsten wiring will break off the filament on one side and just be dangling and when you " HIT THE BUMP" you caused it to reconnect back to the other part of the Tungsten and VOIALA.... u have current again, but when you hit the slightest bump again it will fall off. Hense it going back out

Agree.

That's your opinion.

Correct, that's common problem with ANY coated bulb. Whether it be a $100 pair of PIAA's or a $7 pair of generic Hokunakaiyowaiyomaihami whatever's, they will blow prematurely because halogen headlights weren't meant to have a coating on the bulb, they run HOT.

My guess is it depends on how often you use the bulbs, how good your headlight housings are (any moisture, anything that may get to the bulb, installation error (touching bulbs).

They suck because factory headlight harnesses were not made to have constant 100watts being drawn and will melt.

I've had Silverstars and went thru one every 4 months. It makes sense that it could be a change in temperature/weather. I then bought PIAA's Xtreme white 9004 but they didn't fit my 98 Accord Coupe. The guys at OptAuto.com told me it's a common problem with that model car and PIAA's and graciously let me send it back for a full refund. Now I'm using regular Wagner Brights (stock replacements) it's been 1 1/2 years now and they are still working. Anyone have the same problem with the PIAA's? I was really excited to put them in and dissapointed that they didn't fit. What did you do?

You can find silverstars at Wal-Mart and Advance Auo Parts for like $30, I don't know either where you guys are getting them for $50 at.

Mine too only last like 5-6 months. I'm on like my 4th set. I think I need to switch. They are great bulbs, just don't last long.
