is it safe to say i should be more worried about the engine blowing with boost than the tranny w/ coolers?...

i figure that my car with a turbo should run times about a lude.... (seeing as with even 5 or 6 pounds boost the torque should be well above 170, with horse numbers running about the same..)

Dude, i have a 95 accord and I was warned about turbo.... i was told its a no no because you have to sleeve the motor because the cylinder walls are not strong enough.... if i were, you save some money and swap for and H22 and the results will make you very happy...

an f22 is fine for turbo.....its just that you wont make tons of power...but if you build it right it should be pretty decent

this was a question about the tranny, not the engine

the cyl walls can take as much as the h22 can stock for stock (they are made of the same crappy ass sleeves)
not to mention i believe the comp ratio on the h22 is a little higher than on the f22, making the f22 a lil easier to boost if anything.

i dont want to build the engine massively or anything, most likely just a dremel PnP and then minor small ammounts of boost (like no more than 4-5 PSI, the block should take that without major incident)

with that i should be looking at horsepower gains of around (hoping at least) 30 horse and torque gains of about 25-30, resulting in a higher torque than the h22 and horse numbers a maximum of 30 south of the h22's

i figure that with that torque that the accord should pull nicely wether it has the horspower or not it won't really matter to me, i'm not going to like hardcore race this thing, i just love my accord and want somthing to pick up it's beat a little

no you will blow right through the tranny.

my tranny took a shit after 2 year of very light nitrous use (only at track and very rarely used on street) with tranny cooler and msd window switch. ATF filter got clogged and blew up the clutch packs. theres a guy on SHO with a boosted f22b2 and was originally auto and his slushbox took a shit after about 2-3months of boost. im glad i went thru the tedius process and converted to manual.

Remember the 2001 ULEV Accord turbo guy?

All the problems he had?

He recently posted back that "After 2-3 months of fun, the turbo chewed through the trannie"
