SeaFoam Usage
I was at the auto parts store last night picking up a few things and I picked up a bottle of seafoam. I was reading the things on the bottle, and it tells you to use 1 and half oz for each qt of oil and i think 1 oz for each gal of gas.
I know it sounds kind of dumb, but there was no instructions and I wanted to ask about it. I just add the sea foam to the gas tank and to the oil?
Now the even dumber question - Do I put it in the old oil, let the car run for a while, and THEN change the oil? I know that's how you use cleaners, but I've heard seafoam being discussed in engine additive threads, and I know those go in with the new oil. That's whats causing my confussion.
How do I use this stuff??

I've read in some threads to put 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in oil, and let the TB "suck" in the other 1/3. I have a 95. Can I do it through the brake booster hose? I'm at work and i can't exactly go out and look under my hood right now. Or do I gotta put it through the PVC tube? And yes, I gotta put it into the old oil before changing it.
what i did, was put it into a spray bottle and just spray it into the throttle body, sprayed enough and finally flooded it...let it marinate for 5 minutes, then let the show begin.
i wouldnt bother putting it into the gas tank or oil. remember that you do need close to a full tank of gas if you do put it into the gas tank.

Spraying 1/3 of the bottle in there seems like a hassle. Plus the car would start burning it up right away. I'd rather let the TB drink it up and stall, and let it soak a few minutes before starting it up. I'm also going to try the thing bout putting in 10CC in each chamber. I'm gonna have to stop by the auto store on my way home to pick up the cheapest plugs they have for when I do this. Don't wanna mess up my iridium plugs. Gonna put 1/3 in gas tank, 1/3 in oil before changing it, 1/3 for the TB and the 10CC in each chamber before I put in the cheap plugs. I just need to figure out how I'm suppose to have my TB drink this stuff now. Your suppose to put an ounce for each gallon of gas. The tank will not be completely full, but either way I'm just putting in about 6 ounces. So that should be good enough since the main cleaning will be done through the TB anyways. The gas tank will just help finish the job. LOL, I've been reading so many threads about this stuff that I'm actually excited about doing this tomorrow. I'm also installing a new external coil, redoing my wires for the O2 sensor which I know I did shitty when I installed my headers, coolant flush, tranny drain and fill. Can't wait to smoke up the neighborhood. Next week I'll probably change the O2 sensor, which will most likely finish dying after tomorrow.
So is there a brake booster hose that I can use to let the TB drink the seafoam in the 95 accord? Or will I have to find a way to feed it through the PVC? Or what about that hose that connects the my AIC near the TB? It's easier when you pop the hood knowing exactly what you are going to do, rather than trying to figure out how to do it tomorrow.

i poured it through a funnel on the hose that goes to my intake pipe. I believe the preffered way is to detach the hose going to the PCV valve (the 90deg looking thing on your valve cover) and just pour it in there. Make sure you are in a secluded place because your car WILL fill up the parking lot with smoke. It can get ugly, yet so cool.

Would the seaFoam help me out with cleaning the egr ports some? on my h22a am I safe to pour it into the pcv vavle on valve cover? And how much? I'm looking for the easiest way and it sound like spraying some in the TB is a good idea, so you just pop off the intake and spray away with car off and someone pressing on gas to open tb up? Or take filter off end of intake and spray it in with the car running?
Also where do I get this stuff?
JL95AccorD you get it done?
No. I got the stuff last night, and I'm doing it tomorrow. If you do the spraying way, then you would take off the intake, and then spray it with the car warm, and around 2K RPMs is what i've been reading. Keep spraying until it stalls. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, and start her up. They also say to put 10cc into each chamber and let that sit a few minutes also, and also use it in the gas tank, and in the crankcase. You can get the stuff at NAPA most people find it there. I found it at Discount Auto Parts. You don't put it in the PVC on the cover, you let the pvc hose suck it into the TB. One bottle is enough. 1/3TB 1/3gas tank 1/3crankcase.
PS. put in some old plugs when doing this. Unless you wanna change your plugs anyways after that. They will get a lot of carbon on them. I'ma stop by and get the cheapest set of plugs they sell at the auto store tonight to use for the cleaning.
