With me, i have 2 audiobahn 12's, and an audiobahn amp with an intake on the top of it. I took out my passenger seat and mounted it underneath there. I put the amp on its max watts, and it will stay on all day if i throw the floor a/c on every 30-40 mins. The amp is hella small so it only pushes about half the watts of my 12's, so i think imma buy another audiobahn amp...
I dont know if you wanna get it install at best buy. I was gonna buy a radio there for like 179, and have it installed and my amp wired. After everything was said n done, the radio+installation of everything came out to be over 300 bucks. So i ended up just getting one of those cheap dollar installs from audioexpress, and ended up wiring my amp by myself.
Doing the labor yourself is always the best way. Amp is simple enough, run cable from battery through firewall, to amp and then ground. run rca cables from back of radio that say subwoofer on them to the amp to the sub. And the radio, the wires of new radios come labeled so cutting and joining cables is a piece of cake, and if you want it even easier, just buy a wire harness to match car make with radio make, and it's simple plug n play. No way worth paying the high cost for shop to install. DIY is always the best way to go. Spend the labor money on something else for the car instead.
Yeah, but some places will install the radio for a dollar, or even free. If he can find one of those, he can just get it done there and not void the warrenty on the radio + he wont have to go threw the hassle of installing it by himself. Now the amp is altogether different, no one will install that for cheap/free. But its pretty damn easy to wire that up yourself, just grab a wiring kit and get-tuh work.
Edit: im pretty sure Fry's Electronics does free installs on radios. They got some cheap radios/wiring kits there, might wanna check them out.
