i hear that you can buy a no name. turn around and buy a k&n air filter. if you wanna do it like that. the k&n filter is kinda steep just for a filter. so find a good price on the piping.

lol, we will pretty much cover all typical honda problems, DIY's, possible upgrades, forced induction and nobody will be browsing the accord forums anymore but just reading up on some tutorials, lol.

Its not so much the piping you need to be concerned with as the quality of the filter on the end. I happen to have an AEM short ram and it works great. You could also use generic piping with a k&n filter and have the same results.

The pipe does matter though as far as the material its made of and how well it transfers heat. There's different types of metals, as well as plastics.

It's highly unlikely that it made no performance change whatsoever. Get before and after dynos done. It makes some kind of change, not just in sound.

looking at the tech sheets for intakes, you almost always see that the performance changes come in when one is running in the +5k rpms, and its barely noticeable...for noticeable power you have to either swap or turbo your engine, along with the basic I/H/E bolt-ins. Other than that just a plain intake is not going to do much other than sound a bit more aggresive.

i run a AEM short ram when the streets are flooded and for smog check time and most of the time i run a generic ebay CAI with k&n filter for my nitrous setup (didnt want to drill a hole in the AEM one).

as for which is best, almost all intakes will make similar gains for the f22/f23...
my $30 ebay intake and my aem intake have no big difference performance between them, im almost willing to bet my ebay intake w/ k&n filter will perform just as well as an aem v2 within a 2-3hp margin. $275 or $30, your choice.

not much you can improve on a pipe and filter. check out the dyno comparisons @ http://www.tprmag.com/issue/1/ca-results.shtml

the aem v2 doesnt make much more power than the aem v1 and for peak power they equal, but the prices between the two sure dont equal.
