Default I might be imagining things but....

Hi,
I have 05 Accord 4 cylynder. After 1500 miles switched to Mobil 1 0W-20 synthetic. I notice that the engine sometimes makes a sound that is best described like the sound you get when you take a toy remote control car and push it around with your hand (without engaging the toy's bateries). The kind of a bit high pitch sound.

Now, I don't know if it is just me imagining things, or is it normal for the new Honda engines to sound a bit high pitch..... :driving: It is very subtle and usually (I think) it is noticable when you accelerate and then let go of the gas pedal (I think?)..... ir it could be that I am just a new owner and a paranoid f.u.k?

Test drive a new one and find out. You haven't really qualified the noise enough for us to be able to give you a reasonable answer. I would imagine that it's completely normal and I don't see why it wouldn't be, though.

Yeah, that is a bit premature to change oil (I believe you're supposed to leave thr original oil in for around 5k miles for proper break in), but I doubt it would have any short term effects.

I switched my '00 6th gen to Synthetic at 3500mi, it's been perfect to 62,000mi so far. It shouldn't have hurt the engine as long as the oil meets all the Honda SJ standards, I made sure of that before I went synthetic.

Oil is Mobil1 0W-20 and it says on the bottle that it meets Honda and Ford 5W-20 specs.
