Thanx for all the "informed" posts...

Yes, automotive stores, Advance. I bet you'd even find one in WalMart. ITs a tube about 10-12" long with a valve on one end. Cost about $6-8, if I remember correctly.

Not sure what the quality of the chain store versions are or if they are the same ones. I've heard nothing but good things about the Speed Bleeders though.

vtecinside - I have a friend with one of those pump systems, since he bought his speed bleeders, it hasn't been touched! You really can't beat the Speed Bleeders for simplicity though. Just remember, you need one per caliper.

It can, but it is not designed as a one-size-fits-all product, some cars will be interchangable, but not all. If you look at their website, there is a picture of several of the sizes they sell.

Moreover, you install one set on the car and leave them on, it would be kind of like asking can you use one set of spark plugs on multiple cars. Sure you can do it, but it sure wouldn't make sense.

Touchay! That car acutally left me with a bad tast in my mouth for domestics, and I haven't owned one since. I just used that to demonstrate my point that changing brake fluid really isn't needed.

but for real..if ALL you do is change your oil...u arent ready to do this. Its not gonna be easy and ur gonna be messin around with your brake lines and most likely u'll screw someothin up. It also sounds like you dont have a manaul, dont try anything without a manual unless you want to take my advice which i WOULDNT haha....get a professional to do it or just leave it like it is.

So you want ur engine to blow up or somethin? I dislike people attitudes when they say that. Alot of people out there dont even have the money to get a car and we are around wanting our cars to blow up so our parents can get us a new one or the insurance will pay for it.

I dont know your reasons..but people like that are the ones that make insurance premiums so friggin high!!

Hopefully you have a responsible reason which at the moment i couldnt think of. also btw....accord engine are a little bit more difficult to blow up. UNless u deliberatly tried...water/sugar/lack of oil..etc..you know the stuff.

Dave
oh well, if u can't beatem, joinem. It's not like I'm trying to rip them off, I just drive the car harder and if it blows up faster than oh well. Honda should have built a better car then, or they hsould have done something to prevent me from messing up the car enough to the point where I can blow it up by just driving hard.

Would you also need it for drums?

I know that I have to bleed disc brakes, but what about the drums? I plan on flushing out all the old stuff, so should I completely flush it out and completely saturate the brake line w/ air and then pump in new fluid or should I pump in new fluid as the old stuff goes out?

With something critical like that (and involved), wouldn't it make more sense to just bring it to the dealer?
