outersquare: It's a 4 cylinder Accord. I live in Maryland... but to everyone in the MD area... don't take your car to Herson's Honda.

I think Jim Coleman was actually better. Even though I spent around $600 there too. The reason why I didn't go back there was b/c it was sooooo far from where I lived. And they messed up one time on repair. It all started with my distributor cap/rotor, so I got that replaced at Jim Coleman and things ran fine. That costed me around $300 to repair. The only thing I didn't like about Jim Coleman was that they told me that it was b/c my base idle was off and that I needed throttle body cleaning, which was there first answer to why my car kept stalling in the middle of driving. So they charged me around $250 to get that fixed, but wasn't the problem. So they decided to take 15% my labor work and parts. I felt that they should've refunded me back that money since the problem was b/c of my distributor cap/rotor. But it's okay... I probably needed that throttle body cleaning anyways...

Then I took it to Herson's Honda to get my transmission fixed b/c it kept slipping, which was due to the manufacturing defect or something(the extended warranty thing) so I brung it in to get that rebuilt... and this is when all hell broke loose. First they try to screw me over saying that I need a "new rear main seal". My car was not leaking anything when I brought it in there. They called and left me that message along with telling me that it would be easier to replace the rear main seal when the transmission is out. I didn't get a chance to call back b/c I was working and plus it was a Sat(Honda service closes early) So I called back Mon. to question about that situation, the service guy told me... "ohh it's nothing to worry about. My mechanic said it's nothing major." Now why the hell would you tell me to replace something but then later tell me it's nothing major. Now all the sudden after a transmission rebuilt, I see red drops in my garage. Something sounds kinda fishy here. Then my keys wouldn't come out of the ignition unless I fiddle with the steering wheel. Sometimes it would take me couple seconds to couple minutes trying to figure out how to take out the keys. So Herson's Honda told me I needed a "new ignition switch" which I replaced. It costed me $659 something... b/c they said I would have to get a NEW SET OF KEYS otherwise my car WILL NOT start. Later to find out that was BULL! b/c my old keys started up the car anyways. They LIED to me. I paid an additional $70 something for a new set of keys, which I didn't even need. I need to call back on Monday and demand a refund on those keys. The crazy thing was that... Honda replaced the ignition switch, but I'M STILL ecountering the keys getting stuck in the ignition. This time even worse...! Usually when I rotate the steering wheel it could come out. This time I had to keep turning the wheel... TRYING to figure out which angle will let me take out my keys. At this point I'm furious b/c I just spent almost $700 replacing the ignition switch and it's the same problem from the begining! It's bad enough they already lied about me needing a new key, now the keys STILL don't come out of the ignition. So I was furious! I finally got the keys out after like 5 minutes. I took the car back into the dealership the next morning and complained. This time I got a new service guy. The previous service guy I had didn't seem to know what the hell he was talking about. I wanted to talk to a manager/supervisor but they said... "ohhh we'll take care of this... I'll be sure to inform my manager/supervisor though." BLAH! if this thing does not get fixed soon I'm going to go crazy. I'll be sure to file a complaint to Honda Corp. I feel as if I didn't even need to get my ignition switch replaced. My car is still at the dealership, they told me it was b/c "the keys were cut out wrong" That's the reason why your keys wouldn't come out. Man... when I get my car back, everything better be smooth.

The only reason why I brung in my car was b/c my car kept dying out on me in the mornings. I would have to keep cranking the car to get it working. Sometimes it wouldn't even start AT ALL. I would have to tap the distributor to get it working. I've told this to them numerous times. They were going to charge for me for the diagnosing. I was sooo pissed off b/c I just paid for the diagnosing not too long ago! Later to tell me, ohh.. we won't charge you. They shouldn't be charging me anything. The weird thing is that when my car is at the dealership, they tell me that it STARTS UP FINE. BUT when it's at my house... every morning when I start it up.. I ALWAYS have problems starting it up. Something doesn't sound right there. Even after I got my ignition switch replaced... the starting problem was STILL THERE! The service guy I had said... "it might be the ignition swtich.. the reason why you're having starting problems in the morning." I don't think so! b/c I was still having the same problem even AFTER I got the ignition switch replaced. The car would not start. I have to keep cranking it. I def know it's not the battery b/c I put in a new battery(Optima Yellows) not too long ago. All these problems occured AFTER I brought my car in for the transmission rebuilt. Honda's are known for their reliability, but after this situation... I don't know if I trust in Honda cars anymore.
