Technically there is an adjustment on the cable but it is inside the car. What do you think tells what gear you want it in? its called a transmission range switch by Honda. It may not be her real problem, but don't lead people astray.

When your key is stuck in the ignition, is your steering wheel locked?

By any chance did they do a shift interlock recall while doing your transmission?

I had the exactly same problem after the new transmission installed in 98 accord. Took twice to the dealer. They said the linkage is too tight so they adjusted. I have no idea what they mean. Anyway, the problem is fixed. Good luck on yours.

Hey 00accordgirl, next time you go for car work, take some big, ugly, mean looking man with you, and that may change the way the maintenance professionals treat you. If you can't find one big and ugly enough, give me a call. LOL

LOL thanks ACguy.

Man, I got more bad news about my Accord. I took it into the dealership yesterday(Wed) and now they're telling me I need a new ignition switch. That's the reason why my keys were having a hard time coming out. And then my car would start up in the morning, but then in a couple of seconds, it would die out. I woudl re-crank the car and try again and it would work. But the problem started progressing again. To the point where I would crank it, but it would not start. Then my brother tapped on the disrtibutor and it started to work. WEIRD!!!! So the car is still at Honda. I asked them if they could try again tomorrow morning since it always happens in the morning. Mainly during the cold weather. I've already replaced my dist. cap and rotor not too long ago(back in April of 04). So I really don't know what else is wrong. But the service guy did tell me that a faulty ignition switch would be a reason why the car won't start. Ohhh... yeah Honda quoted me $590 to replace the ignition switch. Isn't that an outrages price??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

93ACCLUDE: I couldn't agree anymore! The tranny's just suck! I'm thinking about just trading in my car. I've spent sooooooooo much money just trying to repair things. One thing just keeps leading to more problems. I must've spent couple thousand dollards just trying to fix parts. It's just not worth it anymore.

VPUPPY: The engine would crank, but sometimes it would turn on and then just all the sudden... it just dies. I would have to re-crank it again and it'll work again. This problem mainly occurs in the morning. And sometimes I would keep cranking and just won't start at all. If I tap on the distributor cap, it'll work fine. I don't know if something is loose or if something is bad.

I'm just so fed with this car. I decided to just get the ignition switch fixed. I'm deciding to trade it in for a different car. Not quite sure yet what car, but leaning torwads the Scion tC. I'll keep you guys updated about my car. I'll be getting it back tomorrow, so hopefully no more starting problems.

Is this a V6? Which dealer are you going to?
