well it'll buy you a new civic, but to the point, you can get a few used cars that are relatively quick under 15K
i've seen used wrx's, GS-Rs, Preludes, even seen a 98 CW ITR go for 14500 so just look around,
personally prefer to stay Honda-acura

well my friend has a rsx type s 2002 6k miles only but title is salvage. the car is fking beautiful black with boss audio system all he did is add the lip and he is selling it for around $15k or 18 but i can get it for $11k only reason i dont buy it is because i already have a accord and if i am going to buy any honda is going to be the newest at the time so i can feed it hehe but then again his title is salvage so who knows what problem he might run down the line. if i had $15 to spend i would just save it and save another $7-8k and buy the newest accord coupe tax money is coming soon too

Thanks
well if you are thinking about getting an accord coupe just be aware that its not a really fast car. its a fun car that handles well, has decent power, and is pretty good on gas. if you want something fast I'd recommend getting an integra, rsx, civic with a swap, or a prelude. get an accord if you like the looks, and the comfort of the interior. you can make an accord pretty fast by adding a turbo but that will run you an additional $3000 at least. what is the main thing you want out of your next car. if speed is the primary goal, don't get an accord.

Skabone your post was very informative, thanks. I was wondering about the accords performance. Whats something faster that holds up reliability wise (since it will be used).

the accord is a weak performer, but its fun to drive. I'd say get a used prelude or an integra GSR. they are pretty reliable and have a good amount of power. if you get a lude, get at least a 95 with VTEC. as for getting a type R teg, they are pretty rare to find. good luck tracking one down.

I would probably try to find a Civic Si.
They are pretty good performers all around, and there are a lot of parts availible for them if you wanna do mods.
Plus nothing says you have really arrived like DOHC VTEC on the side.

I'm actually looking for a GS-R very soon. After my blowout at 85 which ruined a rim, and after my keyless stopped working, and after my trip light blew, and after my front right speaker blew.

Well.. I'm in the process of restoring my car to stock. Just got tired of pouring money into the 98 AUTOMATIC coupe.

I figure I'll get 6K for my car (even with the slipping trannie), and I'll sell the USDM H22A1 swap I've got in the garage (w/ matching 5 speed) ($1500 maybe) then use my income tax money ($3000+ because I'm a student and get it all back) and get a GS-R. woot DOHC VTEC, woot secondary intake runners. woot woot.

15k....used

I think these three cars will be fun to drive, relatively fast, aftermarket potential and reliable.

1.) Miata
2.) Integra Type-R
3.) Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS, you might be able to find a WRX for more but with high mileage those turbos will bring problems...
