Autozone must be full of dummies. Anyways, since i swapped out the parts with new one, and still got the CEL, i decided to take it down to honda and let them figure it out.

Turns out, it was a clogged EGR valve. They fixed/cleaned it, and now it's all good to go. Free of charge, since it fell under the some kind of warranty. Emissions warranty I think. 100,000 miles, or 14 years, which ever comes first.

In conclusion, i spent $90 for nothing. Good thing I used honda parts too, or it would have voided the warranty apparently. The service guy was ready to give me the void warranty speech when I told him I replaced the wires and sparkplugs. I stopped him in the middle of it, and told him it was replaced with factory parts.

A96, your tune-up would have been free too. That emissisions extension warranty/recall entitles you to one free tune-up between 75k miles and 150k miles from the dealership (which includes new spark plug wires, distributor cap/rotor and an oil change) The dealership will make you a copy of everything the warranty covers up to 14 years/150k miles. It's about two pages long. Most all 95-97 Hondas are covered under this warranty extension/recall.

I've only had my CEL come on one time since Ive owned my (96 Accord) and it was for a secondary 02 sensor @ 140k miles. Warranty covered it.

I believe the VSS (Speed Sensor) is covered on there to!

Check your spark plug wire. They might be soaked with oil.
