Default clock question

i just read this thread http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...threadid=13494
and was wondering if anybody here has any experience w/ this, b/c the instructions are a little vague as to what to do w/ the razor blade. i'm really considering this DIY b/c my new HU has a blue backlight. also, i didn't put this in the DIY section b/c of low traffic there.

so you want the clock to light up blue instead of green? i think you'll have to open up the clock to see what's going on inside. you have to figure out if the clock numbers are naturally green, or white, or what. if there's a green film that's removable, you may be able to replace it with some blue film. i've never opened the clock up before, so that's all i can offer. good luck!

edit: that is for a 5th gen. for a 6th gen, you can replace the light bulb with a blue LED. check out this site for a kit you can buy:

Default Speaking of clocks...

Not to hijack this thread, but with my clock, the green backlighting went out completely a while back so I can't see the time at night at all. I have to turn on the interior light to see it, or just wait until daylight comes... hehe Does anyone know how to fix it? At this point, I don't care what color it is as long as I have something! hehehe

you have a 6th gen so you have to change the clock bulb.

if you need a bulb for a 6th gen, go to the dealer. they're around $2.

if you need the assembly...a junkyard?
