Default 99 accord v6 occasional stall

99 accord v6 with 120k miles.

Twice now, in the last month, when starting the car, it will start and almost immediately die. in order to successfully start the vehicle I have to (after it starts initially), feather the throttle to keep it running (albeit running rough).
after about a minute of this the engine starts acting normally. Afterwards the car starts fine.
It also has an occasional miss at idle (at other rpm's the miss is not present).

after the 1st time this happened:
I had a dealership check the fuel pump/pressure, it was ok.
I changed the plugs and put some injection cleaner that the dealership recommended.
checked vacumm readings and hoses
checked Idle air control valve (as per hayes manual) it check ok.

After the 2nd time, I check to see if I could hear the main relay click (it did).

I am not sure what to check/test next
everything on this car seems to carry a hefty replacement cost, so I don't want to just throw parts at it.

Has any one alse had a similar issue? If so what was the culprit?

the starter and battery turns the motor over easily, and since the car will start and the die, wouldn't that rule out the starter/battery?

Nope, you need a good alternator and battery for your car to run, you need power to run your radio and lights. If you have a bad battery it would not be able to continuously power your lights or radio and with out a good alternator it will not recharge your battery.

checked battery, off it checked 12.9v, on 14.5-14.7.
did the checks on my hayes book listed for the charging system. Everything tested as it should, except maybe one test (idle, all acc on) when the fan came on as well, the voltage dropped to 12.8. However after the fan stopped the voltage came right back up to normal. The Hayes book did mention that some of the smaller alt. could drop below 13v. though

I also checked the plug wires, the front bank had a resistance of 14-16k, the back bank, was 4-9k
the coil checks out as well.

I have yet to check the o2 sensors, egr, etc

I am kinda stumped.
