Default Accord 6th gen- electrical problem

I own a 2000 Accord
I'm having a problem with it. This is what happens:
I will be driving and suddenly my audio goes off for just a second but comes back on. I notice my gauges also drop and then rise again to the state they were in before. It's almost like a power surge.
I checked my fuses but they are all fine. At first I thought it was my alternator but it checks out fine and I have a new battery that is 2 months old at most.
Recently I installed some new Pioneer 6x9's and 6 1/2's. I don't have an amp on them now. I've had my Panasonic headunit for 3 months now and not a problem since.
Anyone have this happen to them before? Any suggestions on what to check? I'm trying to get to it before something bad happens

if it was a power surge then nothing should of dimmed out or shut on and off.
If the Alternator died the power would come from the battery.

Maybe dirty connectors?

Sounds like a momentary high drain condition, like something extremely power-hungry is coming on for a moment. I'd suspect a short but you would almost certainly blow a fuse.

Out of curiosity, do you have the same symptoms when the stereo is off? (I mean, the gauges dropping etc.) If the problem goes away when the stereo is off, I'd check your new speaker wiring for shorts to chassis ground. But this is just a guess.

well the best example i can think of is:
whenever you release the clutch, before you step on the gas and the car appears to turn off.

Well i've only had this happen to me twice. The first time is the day after I installed my 6x9's and then the 2nd time after I installed my 6 1/2's. However it hasn't happen since, but I am scared of turning my radio on too high.

thanx for the suggestions, I will try some of these out

Finally got it checked. The problem had stopped so I left it alone since October but then it happened again last week. What ends up happening is that it drains my battery and my car wont start. My alternator and battery check out, so I took it to an electric shop to get it scanned.

Apparently a ground wire got burned out. It grounds the cluster, radio among other things. Hopefully no transistors got burned out but I'm still shelling out approx 250.00 to get it fixed. I get it back today

If its nothing serious I might keep it as a 2nd car but I'm planning on getting something new when I finally land a job.
