Default Project:400

Project 400:
Here's what I plan to do:
Keep all the comforts of an everyday car, with all of the performance of a track based car.

Stage list
  1. BONE STOCK 1996EX
  2. 150 tq 190 whp
  3. 250 tq 300 whp
  4. 340 tq 400 whp
As you can probably see I'm going to place an h22 in my car for starters.
I will have already replaced the interals by the end of step 2, using forged internals and a resleeved block

step 3 is where things get tricky, i want to install a turbo that will have a high potential, yet will not require me to remove the A/C. the turbo should be able to push without too much trouble to 300 whp, and have the possibility of going higher, eventually getting me to at least 350

step 4 was explained alot above, there are a few key differences. step 4 includes a small nitrous burst somewhere, tho i'm not sure what the steps will be for it due to vtec and the turbo settings.

i hope to do this all within the next 3 years, which i know is a long time and is why i broke it down into steps, i figure the total cost will average to be able 4.5k a year, but decreasing from 7 the first to 5.5 the next and finnally only about 1k for the final year

i figure on getting 300 hp axles, will those hold up under 400? i mean as long as i dont launch it extremely hard...
and what about the comp ratio for my pistons, should i go with 9 or 10, i think there is a tuning place around here that might be ale to help me tune it(they deal wiht supra+lexus 300 series/evo's/sti's so they know turbo tuning quite well) i thnk that 10 will help me reach my goal much easier and for less money, but then again if they fail or detonate with the turbo then it's not worth it.

your going to have to bulletproof the H22, it doesn't like boost as much as our F22/23s do. are you also going to get a LSD?

Good luck with that stuff.. maybe H22 or frankenstein, H23 tranny (longer gears for turbo) hmm. That would be a sweet accord.

isnt that because they used FRM sleeves in the h22?

I'd need high power lsd axles for lsd, right? meaning that they might be a real b***h to come by?

then again i dont want to be jumping around corners when i hit the gas

1st question, YES and NO, FRM sleeves are weak. You have to resleeve it. Bulletproof does not only mean the sleeve itself but every other parts, ESPECIALLy the valvetrain to handle the stage 4 pwr.

LSD is a must.

Also, a stage 3-4 axles are also required.

If you plan to get to stage 4, be ready to drop 10G on it.

before you do anything or set your goal, you have to research. I've read lots and lots and still I'm no where near the knowledge that I need to. I've also spent months on reading and stuff. These things require a lot of dedications and a pitfall of $$$$.

Hopefully I won't be bored and give up on my project (500whp+ track, 300whp daily) all show & all go. I mean once you rebuild the block from top to bottom, it's easy to get over 800hp with it. i've seen this civic putting out 880whp on a H22.
