Default Turbo info

How would the turbo from a 1.8L volkswagen engine work with my car? is it the right size?

Also, how much would a custom manifold and piping run, i'm not planning on doing an intercooler. I'm also wondering, how would I control it?? do I NEED a boost controler, or can it just be set and left alone at the turbo, cause thats all I want to do. A 70kmi motor should be fine to hold up to 5 or 6 psi, right?

I can get the turbo for dirt cheap (my friend put a rock through the engine in his gti and is gonna put a VR6 in it, he was drunk and ran off the road) so I'd love to put this thing in my car. The turbo only has like 8,000 miles on it.

If I can get the manifold and piping made (or buy it from someone cheap) i'll install it myself and have it tuned by a pro... any hints/ideas for me??

NO IC is a bad idea...you need a turbo manifold built...do you know what size the turbo is...I'm not familiar /w Volks...but the manifold would have to be built for your engine and for the turbine your going to put in...you would also need downpipe, wastegate, checkvalves...

A/F guage and Boost Gauge is optional, as well as boost controller, turbo timer...

BUT I SUGGEST/HIGHLY RECOMMEND INTERCOOLER AND PIPING...

In the long run it would be cheaper to buy a whole Turbo kit.

And get the electronics, because without propper settings, your turbo will run like crap
