In most cars I tend to shift at 3000 rpm and thats comfortable. Since I got my Accord Coupe 4cyl, It feels like it shifts better at 4000rpm but it does get loud (w/ exhaust too).

Where do you guys shift?

 

Daily driving I usually shift between 3 - 4K...I average normally 31mpg running a/c and getting on it here and there.

 

if I'm driving fast, 4000 to 5000
but when i'm on time, 2500 maybe 3000

 

not that it has anything to do with anything, but the M1 Abrams tank idles at 850 rpms, and the automatic tranny shifts it at around 1000. Which doesn't seem like a lot for a 1500 Hp turbine engine, but it'll still haul ass evan though it weighs 65 tons.

 

i shif between 3-4 try to cruise at 2 but during like semi hard acceleration i go to 4-5 quickly

 

I usually shift around 2700-3200 RPM's, but if I need to accelerate fast (on ramp of a highway for instance), then I shift around 4500-5200 RPM's

 

I rarely push toward 5000! You guys comfortable with that?

I guess I was trained to stop at 3x in previous cars.

 

jesus christ, i only shift at like 2-2.5 grand. my friends always bring them up to redline, i guess they have nothing to lose. my car sounds pretty loud when i go over 3k (no exhaust)

 

3 grand 1st and second
2.5 grand 3rd and 4th
cruise at 1.5 grand in 5th

=)

 

it depends on my mood shift at 3 for normal driving shift at 4 for spirited driving.
