also is there any way to know where the car has been built from the VIN.

yes, you can check where the car's final assembly was by looking at the VIN.

Aboutt he TSX and the US accord built on the same platform? No, exactly. You might see some similarities here and there, esp. on some of the parts they used, but not necessarily the same platform.

Seems like all US made accords have 1 in the first vin number and A in the 11th.

also all s2000 start with J and T in the 11th.

thanks alot. maybe we should have another thread to disipher all the vin codes for all hondas someday.

Just to clarify (or confuse) the matter, I'll add some info. Mr Chad rightly pointed out that 98-02 European Accords were built in the UK. It's not Swindell, however, it's Swindon. At that time in the UK, they had Accord coupes, but these were the same as the american version, and were built in the US.

I think the newest European Accords, which have the same shape as JDM Accords and similar shape to Acura TSX, are also built in Swindon for Europe, although I doubt that JDM Accords and TSX are built and exported. I know 3/5-door Civic hatchbacks are built there and are exported back to Japan. The equivalent in the US is the Civic Si (3-door hatch). I have a feeling these are also built in Swindon, but I can't be sure.

Another point. JDM Honda Inspires and US Accords are on the same platform, while JDM Honda Accords (identical to European Accords) and Acura TSXs share one. However, interiors of JDM Inspires and TSXs seem unique, while JDM/Euro Accords and the US Accords seem to share a common theme. Very confusing, indeed.
