See, but the "bolt up" is not the real issue. The issue is whether or not an LEV cat is "compatible" with my ULEV Accord! I'm told by the Honda techs that it is not. Something about the ECU won't read right and won't know how much fuel to add or something because there is no O2 sensor on the LEV cats (I'm fudging here, but you the idea).

Emissions is a concern, yes.....because Maryland checks emissions here. My car is daily driven.

So with that "light" are there any other less expensive, and doable fixes?

Sort of like when your muffler falls off the highway and you get that nasty exhaust tone.

One thing, depending on your state, chances are all of them. You will not pass emissions because more junk is coming out of the exhaust.
I think you might be thinking about a test pipe which has not restrictions at all. before I had my cat installed there is definately some sort of restriction as I could not see thru it at all. I have an OBDII high flow cat and I pass emmisions with out any problems and Mass is some what strict. not as bad as Cali, but they are still some what strict. you should be able to pick up a highflow for $150-200. If you get an OBDII highflow cat you shouldn't run into a problem. I used to have a generic highflow that was not OBDII and it did throw codes. I've since changed over to an OBDII highflow and haven't had a problem.

Not sure about your state, but in Ohio it's illegal for a junkyard to sell a used cat.

Ahhh! See, now that's probably why I'm coming up EMPTY on my (limited) online search of junkyards for this thing!!!

That helps. I'm still looking for a reasonable solution though! $1500 for a catalytic converter is just crazy!!! I really HATE ULEV now! I wish I realized what a headache it was going to be when I bought it!
