FC's are cool and all, i like em alot, but the turbo versions, especailly with boost upgrades on a stock motor, just arent reliable. just like mkIII turbo supras, fun as hell to drive, great project cars, but not good if its your only transportation or you aint got alot of $$. NA would be a more reliable choice. Whatever you do man good luck with it.

RX-7, hands down. I like the hardtops a lot better too, but if I ever came accross a conv. that was in good shape and for a good price I wouldn't pass up on it either.

i personally dont like the look of the 2nd gen rx-7, 3rd is HOT! if its between a 2nd gen rx-7, and putting an h22 in your accord, i'd stay with the accord, well depends what year accord u have also. my friend has a 3rd gen rx-7, with several mods on his turbo car, actually 2 had a 3rd gen rx-7, and the one that doesnt have theirs anymore, had a 10-11 sec rx-7 3rd gen, and they never had problem with theirs. they had very poor gas mileage cuz of their great power in their cars. the only thing i kno is that, you have to rebuild the engine once around 100,000 miles. do the research, but just cuz car has a reputation for something, doesnt mean its that way for most of their cars.

i understand that u mean, turbo cars are unreliable, but i dont think you should mislead him with that exaggeration, i dont think 50 year old grandpa's who had the old gen rx-7s, ALL were car experts or lovers, they simply wanted a nice lookin sports car, my X gf's neighbor had one, and i guarantee u, cuz i spoke to him several times, he also had several bikes, that he worked on his car 4 times a week, he was a businessman always traveling. and 2nd, i have plenty of friends with rx-7s, supras, and the NEW WRX STI and new EVO's, which are damn quick stock cars, that COME with turbo, and i kno, some of these newbs, DO NOT know how to work on their turbo cars even, if its not boosting right, spooling when its supposed to, etc, running rich or lean, and they do NOT work on their cars 4 times a week, nor did my friends with their rotary engine with turbos, work 7 times a week. so, to the person who made this thread, just prepared that basically, your car wont be as a reliable as an accord obviously, and of course you take a risk whenever u buy any used car, or upgrade your car to a turbo, but doesn't mean ur doomed for repairing and checking ur car every week.
