ppl w/ h22a
I am just curious about the h22a swap and was wondering about a couple of things. 1) How stable has the engine been for you? Cause I have a friend that has a h22a and it overheats in vtec. 2) Have you passed a smog check since you swapped over to the h22a? Any replies would be great.
I know 2 people who swapped their engines for h22's. They both run hot as hell, and they both had to pay someone off to pass smog. And also both of them are trying to get rid of the cars, because they have had nothing but problems.
hey souljad9 thanx for the reply...now I kno why everyone is just viewing the post...i made a newbie mistake and overlooked the jdm post...but your input on the heat factor is quite important...thanx again
my friend had a type R motor in his crx, and everything seemed good, he blew out his tranny like 4 times cuz he abused it, he only sold it cuz it felt like it was fallin apart, but that was probably cuz it was like an 11 second car. too much wear on the little car, not cuz of the swap itself. i think it depends if u get it professionally installed or u kno or u urself no a damn alot about cars, and u do it right the first time, get the right parts and dont half @$$ it
I have no emissions tests in NH and the motor runs fine so far. After I leaned it out on my V-AFC it does run a little cleaner.
The engine temp is just like it was with the F22.
It's all about the quality of the install and the motor.
