I'm confused with how to adjust a koni yellow shock. turning the knob is simple and obvious, but the part where you Remove the plastic dust cover to expose the adjusting knob (fig. 2).

Depress the knob fully, and hold it in that position while adjusting (fig. 1 & 2).

The adjusting device has been provided with a number of distinct stops (clicks), each of which marks an adjustment position (fig. 4).

To increase rebound-damping, turn the piston rod one or more clicks to the right (clockwise), and release the adjusting knob. DO NOT USE FORCE!
Make sure that the adjusting knob springs fully back into position.

I didn't quite understand that part and didn't do it, so that is why I think my ride is so sucky. help me understand what to do exactly in combination with H&R Race

 

I think you have the wrong directions...adjusting Koni Sports (yellows) is simply done by twisting the rod left or right using the supplied plastic knob.

I know the reds require removal from the car and placement in a vise to adjust...maybe that's the directions you have.
