Gradually my car has started this over the past 6 months. Whenever i start the car when it is cold and then accelerate through to the top end of each gear, my tachometer goes nuts, flops all over the place, and when i gun it my engine hangs up slightly. When it goes into the next gear the tachometer goes back to normal until i reach the top end of that gear. I find this to be very strange. I've asked people about it and they mentioned some sort of sensor in the transmission. Talk of transmission repair scurrs me. I'm poor.

Current mechanical issues with car:

Need new engine mounts like a biotch. my engine pitches when shifting very badly. Could have somethin 2 do with it. front torque strut has been replaced, everything else is original parts.

yes u are right about the sensor, normally is that. it happen to me not long ago, hopefully this is u fix, u need to take it to a place that knows about transmission and is a 2min job $5 i cant explain u how to fix it cause i really only watch the guy fix it.
