4th Gen 4WS Accord
I came across some websites with info about 4th generation Accords being available with 4 wheel steering. Needless to say, my eyes widened when I considered the possibilities. I am getting in contact with several salvage yards in Australia and New Zealand for info and pricing for an entire rear subframe assembly and computer controls. Has anyone else done/considered/heard of this type of swap before. Given that the Japan-spec Accords that the parts will come from will be RHD, I'm hoping that LHD Prelude steering column parts can be used. I'm researchign this further, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Interesting you mentioned this, because I believe the 4WS from the earlier Prelude's indeed can be adapted to fit earlier generation Accords. While I'm not sure about the 4th gen. Accord, it's worth looking into.
One of my friends who's a technician is into Honda (races vintage CRX's and has an older Si undergoing a B18B transplant as we speak). He helped one of his friends convert his 3rd gen. Accord into 4WS (I believe it was a 3rd gen).
That's about all the information I can give you, sorry I couldn't be of more help. But definately look into it, it'd be pretty cool.

Some EDM Accord's with 4WS may very well be LHD. Many systems on the 4th gen lude can be adapted over to the 4th gen Accord with minor modifications.
I really don't understand how the system functions. I would venture to guess it's a steer by wire system for the rear. If so that should make it easier.
Problem is the only 4th gen Lude's I knew to be 4WS where 1992's and they where rare indeed. So locating parts would be a challenge to say the least.
Who knows I maybe wrong though. What I do know is that importing all those heavy parts is going to be a real bitch. I'd look to the local alternative first.

i remember reading a thread about 4ws a while back, I think the consensus seemed to be that it was a bad idea, it would cost a lot, be hard to do, and not give you much advantage. ill see if i can find it for you.
