Default A/C Power Problem on 88' CRX Si

Hi, I've heard some good reviews on the A/C system here and i have a question.

I put on a new used a/c compressor and replaced the belt. The previous clutch/pulley had locked up and was no longer working. I pumped in 2 cans of r134a and the clutch didn't kick in but fan does. Now, i checked the wires and there is no power going to the compressor. The compressor does work, however, after bridging a wire from the battery directly to the compressor wire. The problem lies somewhere between the female end of the power wire to the battery.

Is it the a/c compressor relay?

thanks!

It could be, or not. It could a be sensor that's detecting something and won't let you start it up because of a problem (i.e., RPM speed sensor, low refrigerant sensor, etc.). You'll have to look at electrical schematics, specific to your car to see where everything runs to. I hate electrical work...ever try to fix a Mercedez? I just gave up and told the guy to take it to a Benz speciality shop, screw 90+ pages of electrical checking!
