so many things could be wrong with your A/C...

what car do you have??? 4th gen accords are pretty infamous for having leaky highpressure sensors (allowing all freeon to leak)

i'm really good at A/C work but troubleshooting with someone who doesnt know and doesnt have a set of manifold guages at the least isnt easy better take it to someone you trust...

Most likely it's a freon leak. For me, when I got into an accident, my leak was caused by damage to the condenser and some other tube-like thing next to it - i ferget what it was called.

but if you havent gotten into an accident in the front, it could be a number of other things...

You can, but you don't want to. It'll just melt. Replace the metallic hosing line from your A/C unit. I believe it costs 40 or 80 from Honda and it's not too hard to do, but it requires a little of your brain. I had it done when my car was hit too.

okay.. like i said i do a $hitload of a/c work.. and i own just about every tool possible for the job.

haha you cannot wrap a freeon leak. lowside psi is 30-50psi and highside 150+ psi.. how you going to 'wrap' that????

what you need to do .. or have done.. is put some dye in the system (pressure it up) and look for the neon green dye leak. if you cant find a leak after looking its probobly either the expansion valve or the evaperator. ...

also a pressure check on the compressor (you can take the compressor off and to a shop that can do this for you). ive replaced like 4-5 compressors on 4th gens now.. what can you say the newest 4th gen is 10 years old.

you still havnt said what year of car this is and i'm too lazy to look in a profile.

Doesnt Freon leave an oil residue when exposed to 02?, i could just look for that. I am a second owner of the car.
