I have no problem racing with my 91 Accord Ex auto, i leave it in D4 all the time but luckily it has a sport shift button so it shifts automatically at near 6000 (almost redline), with this sport shift feature it shifts higher and down shifts faster. When im racing i just apply the brakes and rev it up good then dump the brakes quick and i get pretty good takeoffs.

hittin the brake and gas dont work for shit ... i ran my stock 94 accord ex 4 dr at the track and it ran a 17.04 when i just floored it in d4 and when i tried that brake gas shit it ran a 17.1 something ... so **** that.

And yes your car shifts slower and it ****s up the tranny when you manually shift ... i dont do that shit at all cause my friend did all sorts of shit like that in his old 95 civic lx and he had to get a new tranny twice ... then again this is the same guy who took the airbox out and put a sock over the pipe so it would still have some filtration lol.

Mine is an auto, I just leave it in D4 so I don't ruin the tranny.

Ever since I got my suspension done, I have not worried about that off the line stuff....I know I can take most around here through curves.

you and me both man, its ridicilous what this supension shit costs though! My old civic first thing i did was intake and exhaust then the system and thats about as far as it got other than some minor shit.

My accord system first then new paint and then the suspension, figured i should focus on it lookin good cause it aint fast .... im bout to get exhaust on though i miss the sound, even though i know people are gonna laugh when they hear the auto goin. Oh well.

Yeah, it is crazy how much I dropped on the suspension. However, the suspension is so crucial that I was not going to try and take short cuts and try to save money doing it. I know that the Accord is a fat ass, has little torque, and is designed to go get groceries. Unless you can afford the H22, the quarter-mile is not your best bet for having fun driving an Accord. The suspension, however, has lots of potential. So it made sense so spend the cash on the suspension so that the curves are bitch-slapped every time I slice through.

Eibach Sportline springs........$180
KYB AGX struts....................$280
Progress camber kit..............$220
DC Sports strut tower brace...$125
Install & alignment................$535
Carving turns like a Thanksgiving turkey.........PRICELESS

neuspeed race springs .... $70 (used)
tokico illumina struts ...... $460 (yes i know i got ripped off)
install .......................... $100 (50 each time, i had the race on stock shocks for like a week and then got the illuminas)

Once i get a job here again ill get a strut tower brace and one of those lower tie down bars (i think thats what the thing that you put under the back of the car is called)

Still no alignment, figure without a camber kit it aint worth it and im still on 15's so new tires arent gonna break the bank.

Ah, don't worry about getting ripped off. I kinda wonder how much different mine would ride with the Illuminas instead of the AGXs....oh well.

The $260 install on the springs and struts was not the only thing done that day. I also had to have the right CV boot re-done too. Was not a cheap day for me.

Alignment and camber had to be taken care of, my new rims and tires went on that same day. 4 215/45/17 Nitto Gens = $400.
