Default Water pump problem?

My 96 Accord has 75000 miles and has developed a squeek in the area around the belts and pulleys. Could this be my water pump going out? The squeek goes away when the car heats up and sometimes during deceleration.

i know that squeek. with 75K on the clock, you might want to look into getting your timing belt and water pump replaced. it's basic maintenance that should be done. (i'm not too sure of the exact mileage it should be done on the 5th gens though)

I'd check all the belts, i've had that feeling that i'd have to do the timing belt again! but found out that it was only the alternator belt! check em.. also the alternator belt is only like 8 bucks, won't hurt to change.

generally when a water pump fails it will start to leak coolant from the seals. check your coolant level and look for drips under the car.

This is true.

Also,.. you can tell if you listen closely,.. you can hear the water pump make a rattling sound. Kind of like maracas.
Then the leaking will occur.
