timing belt
i got the complete package from a website is all orginal genuine stuff made n japan, and the guy n the shop is my cousin so i know what he is doing and he charge me $200 so i wasted around $300something n everything.
i wish i can do it myself but i am not that experience yet maybe next time. and for some reason i never have time left, is it me or is it the state here? my life is controlled before i even wake up, everything is in a freaking rush, day not long enough.
i wonder what can go wrong if timing belt/water pump is install bad/wrong?

i went and got my timeing belt changed about a month ago (90K). i went to one of those like redneck shops because the dealer will rip u. anyways these guys were "honda specialist". they charged like $250. they didnt change my water pump though. they said that they didnt need to be changed until the next time the timing belt was changed. i guess they know what they were talking about. they also said i should have changed my belt around 60K which is not true for newer hondas. it used to be 60K for like 97s and back i think.
getting back the car on a few hrs, i check it out and the guy seen to be doing a beautiful job on it, they also change my front bumper for a new one and painted, all came out to $394 and if anything happen because of the job they doing it it will be fix free of charge, they pay for the bumper $94inctax. shop usually charge around $252 for belt they will provide aftermark belts which is a nonono NO . oem rulez. oh my manual says 70k to change timing belt, every shop i been they tell me i can go up to 90k safely that is 96accord, i always had in mind of the belt braking and was afraid to push the car , now i wont be hehe
I am in Queens, N.Y.. My local Honda dealer charged me $750 plus tax for the timing belt service on my 1998 Accord which had 74000 miles on the odometer at the time. BIG BUCKS and Big Rippoff!! Where did you get it done for that low price? Thanks.
hey just got the car and test drove it to see if anything diff, one diff i notice is the car has more hp, more hp n the sense when i step on the gas it actually move faster/stronger than before, the guy who install the belts for me said that my belt was already showing wear and he said something was wrong like off by one i really cant remember what it was he said but thats what made the diff. my car is auto and i can say it is faster now n acceleration not that i gain any hp u know. one reason i change them now is cause it was smelling and making weird noise. anyway i got them done at this place i know well, if u keep going on northern pass the honda dealer u make a right on 108st and a left on 47ave and thats it that corner. all those shop around there charge $300 but i knew the guy so he got me a deal. $500 new front bumper and painted and also painted some scratches and install the complete timing/water pump package also he change every fluid since i have never change them including anti-freeze and also flush the radioator all that stuff lol like power etc... i usually only change transm and oil thats it. yes if u go to one of those shop like for the gas station they will rippp u off just like the dealer. i will never forget when i went to one of those shop and they wanted $800 for new o2 sensors lol got them for under $200 autozone lifetime warranty, pay $45 for labor which u can do urself takes 5 mins most. hey also got my friend a deal with same paint from the bumper the guy painted my friends 2 mirrors since we both have same color car for free. look around thats the key. now that i got my car back when is nice outside i will take pics
I just had my car towed back to the Honda dealer to fix a busted timing belt, that they charged me $700 to replace less than 90 days ago.
I'm just waiting to see what excuse they come up with to say it's not their fault!

omg thats really fk up, i would scream at them like there is no tomorrow. just to let u know, the mechanics at the honda dealer sometimes are good and sometimes they dont know jack shit thats why is good to have ur own mechanic and use the dealer for things that are still under warranty other than that i see no reason at all to go there. btw make sure u check ur engine good and see if u notice anything diff because from what i read here ppl say that if a belt gets busted while running it can do some damage to ur engine.

you're retarded, you will NOT notice any power difference in a timing belt change... its all in you're head.. the timing belt is just a wear type of thing.. just something you need to do.. NO POWER CHANGES AT ALL SO STFU
