Default h22a / 5 speed swap, need opinion

So I'm seriously contemplating doing one... what do you guys think? Maybe even a f20b swap... I mostly want to do it with the stick, because It would be pointless to swap in an auto h22. Anyone here done the h22/manual conversion? or know of anyone who has? How reliable will this setup be?

I have seen several cars with thtis swap first hand and they have been as reliable as any other H swap. The manual tranny swap really isn't all that tough to do but to make it look like it belongs there takes a little work....a good mechanic with a solid swap history should have more than enough know how to accomplish it.

i paid a shop to do my H22 swap with the 5sp conversion. they welded the clutch pedal bracket just like stock and i even have a 5sp cluster. i also had them use a 92-96 lude shifter so it looks shorter/cooler. the only negative is that if you try starting the car w/out the clutch depressed it will lurch forward and you have to make sure they use a guage cluster that corresponds to your car ie. 2dr or 4dr cause a 2dr cluster won't trigger the dome light and stuff on a 4dr...don't ask me how i know h:

Where did you order the engine from? I might go with japandomesticmotor.com, unless I find some other good sites. The full kit is $1900 + shipping...

$900 for motor swap+$400 for 5sp swap=$1300 for labor

you also need about $500 for 5sp parts and about $600 in maintenance items including a new clutch.
