hmm, that's weird cause the 5s should be fine unless you like driving at 80-90mph in 100 degree heat for extended intervals.

I just did a tune up on my 144k mile 92 Accord. I used Bosch platinum plugs (Wanted NGks but they werent in stock) and Bosch wires too. I wasnt going to buy cheap wires, and the other alternative at Advance Auto Parts (where I used to work...I hate that place lol) was Autolite wires. Probably would have been ok, but I decided to go with Bosch because they are a good quality brand in just about every item they manufacture. These were abou $40 I believe from Autozone. All in all, I think that wires from a good brand (Bosch, Autolite, NGK, OEM etc) will do you just fine. What do OEM wires cost anyway? I didnt even think of them as an alternative until now...probably too expensive.

sumitomo is tire company in japan so maybe they make the rubber jacket for the wire. i believe sumitomo makes the dunlop tires for their market or something like that, they are related somehow.

the oem wires are about $60 or so for an ex and less for lx/dx models. i don't trust the $30 wires that autozone sells. i would not have used platinum plugs let alone bosch in a honda. if the ngks are not instock i would use denso copper plugs. hell you could have bought the ngks from honda for cheaper than what you paid for those bosch +4s.

When did I say anything about plus 4s? Anything other than a regular design plug is a complete waste of money. I've never seen anything wrong with platinums either, just was the best choice given the circumstance. And I didnt use the cheap Autozone wires..

i thought all bosch platinums were +4s design. you still probably paid close to $10 each for them the ngk platinums are like $12 i think. i still i would not use platinums anyways, they are not a performance plug. they are a plug for lazy people who want to change plugs every 100k. if you want extended plug life i would get iridiums which ngk makes sells for like $7 each and will last about 50k or so.

Wow!!! I spent $58.17 for my four NGK wires and $9.28 for my four NGK plugs. Time to start shopping around on the internet.

Maybe I like German plugs...ok...that sounds wrong.
