Default 9005 conversion question

I was just wondering why cant you just get the harness to the high beams and then just splice that to the low beam. Instead of altering the bulbs actual socket just a thought. or is just easier to just alter the bulbs socket

You can do that but it makes it harder to go back to stock if you need to.

Some people do the conversion then for some reason don't like it so it's easier to just be able to plug in the 9006 back when you want to.

Plus it's easier to make little mod to the bulb then to have to cut and splice wires in such a tight spot.

I have bad thoughts of using 9005 because tend to blow much quicker than the 9006 when used on a daily bases.

Well yeah that's true because they are alot bright and burn much hotter than the 9006. That's the main reason they burn out faster than the 9006. It's a compromise and I think it's worth it. The light output is great.

Ive had the same set of 9005s, (that i paid $1.30 a piece for), and they have held up for over a year now. No problems yet.
