SRS light problem...

Guys, this problem just seemed to have gotten a lot worse. I couldn't find the connector. There was a gray one with 4 prongs and a blue one with 2 prongs. Neither of them worked. I ended up taking it to the dealer and he said the SRS unit has failed. If I get it fixed there, it'll cost me a whopping $600. I hate dealerships and don't trust them for shit. I'll have to take it somewhere else and get a second oppinion. Just great for this to happen to me now. I am in the process of selling the car and it's never given me a single problem in 50K miles.
Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas or hints? Thanks.

If the light is on, it means the airbags are deactivated.
Make sure you wear your seatbelt, and feel happy knowing that if (God forbid) you do get into an accident, it wont cost billions of dollars to replace the airbags, because they wont even go off
