Default My first brake job!

I finally did my first brake job today. I replaced my worn out brake pads up front w/some AEM pads. It took about 45 minutes and was easy as hell. I had never attempted to mess w/my brakes before so I was kinda hesitant, but it was hella easy. All you need is a lug wrench, 17mm socket, some brake cleaner and some disc brake quiet(aerosol can). Remove your wheel, remove the two bolts holding the caliper to the caliper mounting bracket, remove the old pads and shims. Put the new pads in w/the shims, compress the piston, reinstall the caliper and put the wheel back on. Now that I see how easy it is to do, i'm gonna paint my calipers the right way, I painted em while they were still on the car last timeh:

Awesome. Yeah I painted my calipers but I left the calipers on. Just used newspaper and plastic bag for the rest that I covered up. Still looks great tell this day!

Anyways, How do you like the AEM's? Im thinking of gettin cross-drilled rotors, NSX calipers and AEM pads.

I tried leaving em on, did a half ass job. Now I can do it right!

I love the AEM's so far, they stop the car alot quicker now, I gotta take it easy w/the brake pedal until I get used to it.

Damn dude, NSX calipers? You really wanna stop don't ya?

Hahah thats cool man...As for the NSX calipers, they are actually a bit smaller then my wagon ones...by like 4 cm's. The only advantage would be that they are aluminum instead of cast. and the show look of havin the calipers say NSX!

As for the lip, thats cool men send it over, how u gonna send it? cash? check or cashiers's check? that would be best. i think its 59.99 plus tax and shipping. i'll call monday and confirm the price.

ah, ok. Can you put the wagon calipers on ur 5th gen? Are the NSX calipers at least dual piston? Yeah, it sounds cool to say you have NSX calipers on ur Accord

We're all still going in on the lip thing together right? It would save us alot in shipping. Let me know what the final price is gonna be and I'll send a money order, that cool?

yes the nsx calipers are 2 pistons, but yea they really arent much better then wagons, yes the wagons do fit on the 5gen and will be put on soon as soon as i get a breaker bar long enough to remove the axle nuts and take the rotors off.

Yes we are all still goin in on the lip together, i'll probably tell alan to send me his cash too and then have it shipped to the shop in albany. i think its 59 plus 30 shipping so thats 59 plus 10 each and tax i think, but like i said i'll get the final prices monday hopefully.

I'm gonna have to read up on brakes and stuff cause I don't really see how a dual piston setup could be so much better than a single piston setup if no matter what, the pistons are on the same side. They need to come up w/a system that applies the pressure evenly to both the inner and outer pads cause when I replaced mine yesterday, I noticed that the inner pads were way more worn than the outer ones.

Yeah man, hit me up once you find out how much the final cost is gonna be and I'll send it out.
