QUOTE: To be legal...NO. Red light can not come out of a clear lense.

Just get clear LED bulbs that glow red for turn signals. I cannot say I have ever heard that a red bulb cannot glow in a clear lense. I have that in my accord now (cleared out the stock amber lense) and I have not had any problems. Even had state troopers behind me while at a stop and waiting to turn. Maybe I am just lucky. It has been like that for almost two years now.

These are Federal DOT laws and its kinda up to the state as to how much/little they will enforce. In Florida i could get away with a lot, but when i moved to iowa.. they are hardasses and here is what the cop told me... i dont claim this to be the letter of the law:

Running and Brake lights: Red
Rear Turn Signals: Amber or Red
Backup Light: White

Front Turn Signals: Plain white or Amber... nothing else. This is what i got pulled over for.. i had clear corners on the car w/hyperwhites.

I said hell with it and put the stock corners back on because a 80.00 ticket for that is ghey.

He didnt care what color the lens was.. long as when the lights were in action they displayed those colors.
