Default new to honda.....

Well, im thinking about getting an accord. Had to get rid of the stang cause we got a little one on the way. My budgets around 9k, so im not quite sure what year to get. I am looking at the 97' because they seem to be plentiful at a resonable price. What do you guys think?

thanks, Nate

I'd say go with whatever style you like better, the 5th generation Accord (94-97) or 6th generation Accord (98-02). I would get a 98+ just cause I'm partial to the looks. Another nice thing is that a 98+ Accord has only been out of production a little over a year, so even a 98 can still pull off that "newer car" look. With a 5th generation Accord, people know it's at least 6 years old. But in my opinion both body styles have aged nicely. The 5th gen Accord came out in 94...hardly looks like a 10 year design in my opinion.

Budget will come into play if you are looking at an EX, leather, V6, etc.

Welcome to HAN.

thanks guys!

i did some looking around and found a few 98 accords around 9k. but their arnt many without well over 100k miles on them. at least not here in oklahoma. guess i need to start checking the dallas area. but i do agree with all of you, the 98 body style is alot nicer on the eyes. and to me it even looks like the 2doors have some room in the back as well. doesnt look too cramped up.

Despite the amount of space, you probably won't want to be leaning into the back seat of a coupe to strap a baby into a car seat . . . you'll probably be happier with a sedan. Congratulations on the future arrival!

The 98+ Honda accord coupes had issues with the auto but is covered under warranty. 5spd is great, not to many problems that I have heard of. Another great thing about the 6th gen I4 is the H22 and tran drop in very easy because of the extra space in the engine bay.
