Auto Tranny Fluid Change Suggestions
Hi everyone!
I have got 65K of hard miles on my 99 Accord 4cyl and I can feel the auto tranny being a bit sluggish... do you think changing the Tranny Fluid can improve the shifting? if so, is it easy to DIY? and what kind/type of tranny fluid should I use?
TIA!!

Tranny fluid should be changed every 12000-15000 miles.

If you havent' changed it yet, you are well overdue.
I'd go with Honda ATF, and yes, it's a very easy DIY. Just make sure you get a long skinny funnel before you begin.

yea that's what they recommend in the manual. you should at least get it drained and filled (~3.5 quarts) with Honda ATF at least once a year. Or you can actually get it flushed (~10+ quarts) by hooking it up to a machine and they actually vacuum all the fluid out. Either way, you should change your ATF.

And drive until your tranny is hot, then change the fluid.
