Default I just entered the import world... :)

I posted in the basement but I'll post here too.

I just bought a 94 Honda Accord EX from a nice old couple for $2500. Can't drive it until monday though cuz it doesn't have insurance yet :wtc:

I love it though It's real clean and drives great. Has a few issues that I'm hoping you all can help me with. I think I got a good deal and made a good purchase

I have some pics here: http://www.pbase.com/klatuveratanicto/accord

but they were taken at night so they aren't that great. More pics in the AM.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with the following problems:

1) I do NOT like the Altezza's. Where can I get some factory taillights other than a junkyard and how much do they run?

2) It was backed into a pole and the bumper has a mark and is sagging some. Is there any way to get it to look normal again? If not how much is a new bumper? Where can I get one?

3) The gas cap doesn't shut. The latch on the actual door broke. Where can I get a new gas door painted the same color as the rest of the car?

4) It's missing the ash tray.....

5) The cup holder doesn't lock down. I'm guessing a latch broke their as well. Any way of fixing?

6) When turning the A/C on and idling, it sounds like it almost wants to kill. Like the idle isn't set right. When you turn the AC button off it sounds perfect. Any explanations?

I think that's about all the questions I have right now This is my first import EVER. I've owned a tempo, firebird, 2 chevy trucks, a plymouth reliant, and a Jimmy. And they all sucked ass. I'm hoping to never have to buy a domestic again (Except for my 92 Mustang GT project car I plan on buying one day )

Other questions:

The sunroof opens but the motor keeps running even when it's fully open. When I shut it the back of the sunroof tries to go up but then it doesn't and the motor keeps making noise. I have to push it in the open position for a second to make the back go back down. It doesn't pop up far enough to stick a finger in it but you can see the crack. Is that normal?

Also the driver door lock doesn't lock from the inside. I'm guessing that's some kind of security feature so you don't lock your keys in the car? When you push the power button all 4 lock but the driver side pops back up. When you try to manually push it down it stays in the up position.... I have to stick the key in the outside door and turn it to lock the driver door. How do I fix that?

Thanks everyone in advance

to answer your idiot reply... the older couple gave the car to their daughter for a few months but the bitch riced it out and they took it away from her and sold it :slap:

maybe you should go to the basement and read my topic there before making stupid replies here

1. dealership
2. replace the bumper and the clips it attaches to. don't pay more than $65 bucks for it. www.hondabodyparts.com try them, if not, look in the yellow pages under automobile body parts and make some phone calls.
3. Junkyard/Recycler
4. see #3
5. see #3 & 4, if the latch is broken, you need to replace the whole thing.
6. does the rpm drop when you turn on the a/c or does it just sound bad? could be a bad compressor, maybe the alternator is bad and bogs when under a load:dunno:

yes, it's a feature to prevent us from locking out keys in the car. You can lock it from inside though, just pull the handle like you want to open the door, and while holding it, press the lock switch/button, done deal

You got a great deal. Congrads

imfastidious this is for you :shiner:
You silly ignorant fool. If you had any ability to think you would have realized that Klatu wanted to replace the tail lights on his car for the stock ones.

Don't post worthless garbage on the board, as you've been doing all night, it's a waist of space and only makes you looks like an ass.

can pick up some new lights on eBay probably really cheap, and in good condition. Dealership is going to be uber-pricey. oh, and welcome to the world of tuned 4 cylinders - and to the board
