Default Are coilovers really the best?

Alright I really want to get my car lowered, but i'm not sure I can afford a full coilover kit, like a Tein or Apexi one. The main thing i'm looking for is that I don't want a bouncy ride. That's about it.

I've read so much about coilovers being the best way to lower a car. What about springs? Or springs plus whatever else I would need to get (struts or shocks or whatever, I don't know)? Can any of those things come close to coilovers?

I'm just trying to save some money here, without having to sacrifice quality. (and I don't know crap about lowering cars )

IMO...after being in EliteAccord's car, springs and struts can come close to the coilovers. I don't think it felt any different than how my car was stock back then. You just have to get the right combo of springs and shocks

I think it's worth it to get full coilovers. I have the apexi WS full coilovers and the ride is like stock, lowered about 3.5 inches.

hell yeah, the Apex-i WS are so tight. i just got mine put on friday. all i need to do now is get everything realigned. the ride is just like stock, actually better for me, since my sh!t was so bad before. for a good set of struts, springs, and camber kit, its going to be around 800-900. so i figured what the hell, just buy the WS for 950 and get a camber kit, and i spent like 150 bucks more than what i would have before, and now my ride height is adjustable.

Yeah, I was leaning towards coilovers too. But I won't need a camber kit unless I go below 2 inches, right? (I only plan on going 1.5-1.75, maybe 2 inches at the most).

Apexi WS vs. Tein HA full coilovers... which one can I find for cheaper? (Any links would be real helpful, thanks)

I got my Apexi WS's on www.groupbuycenter.com for $830 shipped. Tein goes for about $100 more. And believe me, when you can drop it as low as you want, you'll be going a lot lower than 1.5 inches.

Is it worth the extra $100 for the Teins? I heard all they have over the Apexi is some stability control or something. (To make the handling tighter or looser).

Cryogen: how you like those Apexis? (Also, I can't find any Apexi on groupbuycenter.com. I just found out about that site, so maybe I'm not searching right?) BTW, I did the blue dash lights conversion. It's amazing, like 3 little neons at night. Mad props on the How-To Cryogen.

Either way, you're gonna be head over heals with your choice. I spent lots of time talking to people with full coilovers, especially he Apexi WS. I talked to a guy that road races his 5th gen, to a guy tha's had 5 different suspension setups, and both have loved their apexi's. I've found that they ride smooth as stock and really stiffen up on corners, so I don't even need to adjust them.

I don't see any group buys on the WS's right now. It's probalby just inbetween. there is almost always a 30% off all apexi buy going on. www.rollhard.com had he cheapest web price when I checked last summer at $830
