Default stripped rear wheel stud

I stripped a rear wheel stud and need to replace it. I have drums in the back of my 96 LX. Can anyone guide me on how to do it? Any pics, links, how to's you accord gurus can refer me to? Thanks.

pull the drum off, get a big hammer and hit the stud till it comes out the back of the hub. Then put your new stud through the back of the hub and put a couple washers around it where you are going to put on the nut, then put on the nut and tighten it down with an impact gun untill the new stud seats itself. take the nut back off then remove the smashed up washers and you'll be good to go.

thanx :grinpimp: , I know I've posted how to do it before, im too lazy to flame or point out where the thread is, it even had a picture I drew to show how to "trim" the head off the new stud for the models that have pressed hubs in the front.

actually if you do it that way you'll screw up your wheel bearing... take the hub off, then pound the stud out. Then you can just pound the new stud in place without the washer/nut trick.

this dude knows what he's talking about, but he forgot to tell you to make sure to use open end lug nuts.

Thanks. I checked out hondatech's drawing. But what I really need to know is how to take apart the rear drum in order to get to the broken stud. I looked behind my rear drums today and have no clue what to unscrew to open it up. I might just start unscrewing everything until I can get to the wheel stud.

the drum should just come off after you pull the wheel off. pull it until it comes off. If it doesn't come right off, I would just tap it around the edge of the drum with a hammer until it starts to break loose. if it's really stuck, you could put two bolts that match the thread pattern of the threaded holes in the drum and wrench them down until they hit the hub face and "push" the drum off the hub. I do that maybe once a month though, and I work on tons of honda/acura in a month.
