You would have to drive into a pool/pond to get it to hydrolock just without the resonator, i have mine off and its what like a foot off the groud, at least?

people woth cold airs have there intake way closer to the ground than us, thats why this is sort of a problem for them

rofl...sry...this story really sucks...but i was laughing cuz...when there's a hydrolock post...someone (like hondapower10a) immediately starts slamming cai...and u had a sri on it...so...really it can happen to the best of us, cai or not...so...if ur driving thru a small pond in the road, don't gas it...and avoid driving thru massive water...man...that pond musta been huge...sry to hear that...esp since swap is pretty financially hard to take

This thread made me mod my cai into a short ram. Scares the crap outta me . I drove in the rain yesterday and my filter had condensation in it.

wow, that really sucks ....

A lot of people really forget how the standard CAI design is really not extremely streetable. Just because unless you're just really lucky, one day you'll probably see a deep puddle. And the bypass valve is just a joke. I'm really sorry about your loss

:werd: if you drive with care you be fine. if I hydro lock my car I get what I deserve. I drive with a little common sense and I think I'll be fine.

just to add today it was pouring rain on my way to work and there were numerous spots (on 133 from shawsheen to the IRS building skabone will know) the road gets huge puddles. i noticed other cars ahead of me splashing through them and i slowed down, put in the clutch in someinstances, and swerved a little around them. just like skabones said just use caution when you drive and that should keep you safe 99% of the time.

yeah those roads were rough yesterday. I was swerving a lot to miss some of those huge puddles, putting the car into netural as I went by them. no hydrolock for me or accordsleeper.
