Default head unit stoped working

sorry for posting the same thing again, but no one is in audio\electronics, and i really cant sleep on something like this. well here is what i said

ok, so i jsut got a $300 pioneer head unit the other day and installed it and everything worked great. well I was messing around with my fog light switch (because i just got some OEM style ones to replace my rice fogs) and took it off and had the 2 wires from it lose, then stupid me wnated to hear a cd so i put key in then i tucked the wires behind the plastic part near the pedals and under the stearing wheel, then head unit shut off.

please guys i need help! thanks!

Sounds like you grounded out your unit, or something in line for the power of the unit. Check your fuses, also check to make sure that there are no bare wires that are touching metal (the wires you tucked?). There may also be an inline fuse up by your head unit on the red wire (typically), that may have blown as well. If it is blown, you grounded it out. Fix the grounding problem before replacing the fuse. I am unfamiliar with the whole fog light setup you described, but I hope this helps.

so do i have to get a new wireing harness for it? (im not sure about this) and when i got the car it had some fog lights on it and a switch. so i took off the switch and just lef tthe wires that was on the switch. so i put them behind the plastic cover (lower right side of steering wheel) and im guessing touched something metal, so i dont know. thanks for the help

EDIT-- i checked fuses and noticed 15A is for cig lighter and head unit. so i checked to see if cig lighter gets hot and it doesnt. so do i just replace that fuse? and how chould i go about doing this (do i have to disconnect battery, etc?) btw im a slight newb when it comes to wireing and fuses, especially on a car)

EDIT2- was the fuse, omg i am a newb, thanks again!

Just pop the new fuse in but leave everything off no Keys in the igniton Just check to make sure those wires arent grounding out anywhere or exposed and you should be good to go
