Default Brembo blank rotors

Well i just did a rear brake disc conversion about two weeks ago, everything went fine except some things, the right parking cable was about an inch short but i managed to connect it to the brake lever. I got new brembo blanks and new OEM nissin pads for it too. but now when i brake it makes a clicking noise coming from the rear brakes. So i took it to a brake shop and they said it was warped rotors. warped rotors? but they were brand new i said. but he said that they should've been turned when i bought them. so i just went home after the took my car of the lift. I even checked the brakes myself but everything seems fine so im guessing this is the problem since i cant think of any other reasons for the clicking. Do new brembo blanks need to be resurfaced when you get them new??? what do you guys think i should do?

I say just listen to the guys at the shop since it is a very inexpensive fix. Just take them off of the car yourself and get a ride so they don't charge a fee to do that for you. Around here it's maybe $12 a rotor for that to be done.

I didn't turn my last pair of new rotors. They were the Autozone blanks, some people say the Autozone blanks are just rebadged Brembos.

They have been acting funny recently though.:dunno:

your rotors arent "warped" if theyre new.... Some rotors do need some gentle use (break in) befor they work properly... describe what you mean by "clicking noise".....

the clicking starts out fast when im braking at say 40 then it gets slower as i slow down, its not a loud click more of a muffled click. i dont know how else to describe it except maybe a thumping sound like hitting the tire with a bar.

i have brembo blanks with AEM pads and i had to do a break-in with the rotors before i could brake normally. i think it was about 2 gas tanks...

Yeah, the pads have to bed into the rotors. The brakes may feel spongy at first, but they will wear in and feel fine in about a week of normal driving.

They shouldn't click though.

Needed to be resurfaced? Brand new? Brembo? I don't think brembo would be the name that they are if they're band new blanks required turning....

Take the wheels off, and torque everything back to spec, if something was way loose, hit it with RTV/loctite.

is that loose e-brake cable, tapping against something?

I think you probably have something loose, I'm doing this mod in the upcoming week, so I'll probably be shooting you a PM

i doubt its even the rotors cause the way you describe the sound it sounds more like something is loose like maybe the retaining clips for the pads werent put in or you didnt secure them cause mine did that when i changed my pads. i had to squeeze a clip to make it fit snugger on the pad. might wanna check that out.
